Three Lions to Euro '08...?

With the EPL taking a back seat to Euro qualifying matches, I watch with delight at how the Spaniards deposed of Sweden 3-0 at the Bernabeu Stadium. The Spaniards were playing with such flair and elegance and were no match for the Swedes.

I also managed to catch the match between Italy & Scotland. But what I really want to watch is the clash between England & Croatia.

It's do or die for Steve's McClaren's men. I wonder why England always leave it to the last minute to qualify for a tournament?

Remember the World Cup 2002? Remember England needed at least a draw to go to Japan-Korea. If Becks botched that free-kick into Row Z at the Stratford End, England were goners.

So it's 'deja vu' once again for the Three Lions, only this time it's the Euro Championship. Again the odds are stacked against them. No Wayne Rooney. No Gary Neville.

Despite the 'life-line' handed to them by Israel by beating Russia 2-1, I don't think England really deserve to be in Euro next year. Sure they have world class quality players like Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, but they are lacking that 'omph', that buzz, that zestful punch.

I dare say it's quite boring to see England play. Hence why I find it more entertaining & pleasurable to watch teams like Spain, Portugal & even Turkey!

On the sports section of a local newspaper, has this headline..."I can do it for England"....guess who said that...Peter Crotch...oppss I mean Crouch...Peter Crouch.

Let's hope those long legs of his can put the ball into the back of the net for England. And if Crouchy scores, no 'robot dance' I hope.
