Strongest Devils in 22 years
Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the current Manchester United squad as the strongest he has had in two decades in charge of the Premier League champions. After a string of 1-0 wins, United cruised to four wins & produced 16 goals in that process.
Their latest win against Blackburn was testament that United were not missing talismanic goalscorer Wayne Rooney. Two quick first half goals superbly converted by Cristiano Ronaldo was enough to hand the Red Devils another three points.
Even though the current team has been hailed as the strongest by Fergie, I can't help but think of the "Old Guards" of United. Players like Mark Hughes or fondly known as "Sparky" was a role model of a professional footballer. Let's not forget Steve Bruce & Gary Pallister, the "Twin Towers" of United.
Also Brian "Chocky" McClair, Great Dane Peter Schmeichel & of course King Eric Cantona. These Old Guards fough with heart & soul to make Man.United what they are right now.
Credit to the current team, but salutes to the Old Guards.
